Tai Kwun is thrilled to announce the 2026 edition of InnerGlow, marking half a decade of immersive light artistry where mapped projections bring heritage architecture to life. This year, Tai Kwun’s Parade Ground and historic Barrack Block façade will set the scene for a funky disco journey nightly from 6:30pm to 9pm. In addition, the Searchlight mentorship programme returns for its third year to present a showcase of alumni artists. Both programmes, running from 6 to 22 Feb 2026, are made possible with core funding provided by The Hong Kong Jockey Club through its Charities Trust as part of Tai Kwun’s arts and heritage programmes, with CLP Holdings Limited serving as Principal Sponsor of InnerGlow 2026, and Indosuez Wealth Management as Lead Sponsor of Searchlight 2026.
Once again under the guidance of The Electric Canvas, Tai Kwun’s creative and technical partner, this year’s InnerGlow welcomes The Collective, one of Hong Kong’s most inventive and imaginative design and technology studios. This year’s production, Discotheque Dreams, recalls disco’s revolutionary arrival in Asia through pulsing beats and a neon dreamscape unfolding as a cultural mash-up of East and West, from lion dances and martial arts films to the 1970s Hollywood classics. For the first time, the creative team introduces technology offering real-time audience participation, inviting visitors to step into the show alongside both projections and live performances.
In parallel, Searchlight continues to nurture next-generation artists, with promising creatives gaining practical experience and creative insights from seasoned industry leaders. A 30-minute show of new presentations by returning artists will illuminate the historic façade of F Hall and the Prison Wall, each guided by a team of professionals including The Electric Canvas, multimedia artist Ng Tsz Kwan, and sound designer Roy Cheung. Returning visitors can experience Searchlight alumni elevating their work to new levels, with more sophisticated technology and deeper digital storytelling.
InnerGlow and Searchlight will animate Tai Kwun’s heritage compound with free nightly parties pulsing with disco energy and luminous creativity. Visitors are invited to cross eras and cultures in a technicolour collision of joyful animations. This radiant kaleidoscope has quickly established itself as a cherished Hong Kong tradition to bridge the end of one lunar year and to greet the next – a must-see experience for locals to welcome the Year of the Horse or visitors to discover our city through Tai Kwun’s distinctive blend of Chinese tradition, Hong Kong history and feisty creative spirit.
